oh yeah... i have a blog.

Wow, I am pretty horrible at blogging. Like really horrible. Mike has a full time job, an obsession with fantasy football, 3 grad classes, and me yet he still finds time to blog on a regular basis. I on the other hand have a full time job and a seriously distracted boyfriend and a neglected blog.

Oh well. I'm over it.

So Friday was Halloween, and considering this is the only day of the whole year when its acceptable to wear jeans to work, I was not going to miss my chance. Mark and I decided a couple weeks ago that it would be hilarious (and cheap, cause we are both broke) to dress as lumberjacks. So we went to Walmart to pick out the finest of flannels and while there our costumes evolved into Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox and the result was this...

Matt was our Blue Ox, and since we were limited by time, this is really the best we could do for a blue ox. (Apparently blue ox costumes are pretty hard to come by)

But, while it was all fun and games to get dressed up on Friday something much more serious was taking place at Enterprise. The higher ups within our operating group were meeting to discuss the pending layoffs. For the first time ever in Enterprise's history the company has begun to let people go because of the economic distress that is plaguing the car industry as a whole. Its a pretty scary process. No one is quite sure how everything is going to go down. About a week ago we got an email from Andy Taylor, the president of the company, saying there were going to be "minimal reductions in staff". However, it is now general knowledge that the operating group just south of us in DC has eliminated a few regional VP's, a slew of Area Managers, and are now gunning for the entry level staff the MT's and MA's.

We will find out the full story by midweek.

Of all the things that I continue to hear and read about on the news and in the papers this is the closest the recession has come to my life, besides the balance in my young 401k. Really, I can only hope that is doesn't come much closer.

On the flip side, there are still oppurtunities for promotion. One of the assistants at the airport got promoted to a branch manager position, whicj means there is a spot open at the airport. I am hoping that Brit leaves it open for MA's and Assistants so that I have a chance to throw for it. I want that spot.

Besides all the work drama, everything has been pretty typical around here.
To leave you on a high note, this is chloe, being a monster and hanging upside down from a sweatshirt, hanging on a coat hook.

Grace! I love your posting.

Tom updates his blog, faithfully, every weekend and I've had a 6 week leave of absense. I'm not sure if I'm ready to commit to a blog.

And, the layoffs are a scary thing! My company is talking about the same thing. What scares me the most is being stuck in Alabama!

And, your halloween customes?! I've seen people in Alabama were stuff like that seriously. No joke.

Missss you!
