Mike and I never put an offer on our Marianne house. Because of the Obama stimulus package the current owners decided to try and refinance for a lower monthly payment, and therefore eliminating the need to sell. While they are trying to do that the house was taken off the market. Who knows though, it might be back up in a couple weeks. In the meantime Mike and I are still scouring the listings for our first home. We have started to concentrate our search to mostly Howard County (where we live now) and places south and west of Baltimore city. We absolutely fell in love with Ellicott City and Oella while we were looking at the Marinanne house. The only problem is that it is a very desirable location which drives the home prices through the roof. Its surprising how well the market has held in that area in particular.
The hardest part for Mike and I is agreeing on places that we should go see with our real estate agent. Mike is realistic and looks for homes that have some kind of curb appeal and look relatively move-in ready. I on the other hand look mostly for interesting details with little regard to the actual condition of the house. It makes for interesting nights. I'm optimistic though that we will find something soon yet still a little concerned that we may be living in a box come July 18th.
In other than house news, last night I completed and submitted my first grad school application and the countdown to the GMAT is now at 13 days. I thought at first I was rushing into things but it is what I want to do and if I wait to get started I'm afraid I will just put it on the back burner yet again. Before I felt lost in my career and didn't really know where I was going with it. Now I feel like I have some direction and know that I'm not going to be stuck at Enterprise if I don't want to be there.
Other then house and grad school nothing else has really been happening. Kristi's wedding is Friday so I am very excited for her and for my day off.
