As most people know, I have a love/hate relationship with my car. She almost is always there for me, except the times she's not. Like on Thursday night when she decided to breakdown on route 100, on my way home from work, during rush hour. That was definitely one of my top 5 scariest experiences ever. Luckily my amazing boyfriend (who is freaking awesome) came to my side, and waited for the tow truck with me, and then drove me back to work to rent a car.(I owe you big time for that one). Anyways, the guys that have been working on my car took her in ( really they had no choice, she was there when they got in on friday morning) they were able to diagnose and repair a problem.. except, rit being rit, that problem had nothing to do with why I broke down. The second was the stickier situation. The only thing they were able to nail down was that the problem was in the transmission. Obviously I was in tears, a new tranmission for my car would cost more then what i even paid for the thing. So I consulted the parents for some advice. They think I should buy a new car. Great advice.. if only i could afford a new car, and the full coverage insurance that came along with it. I was saving that purchase for when i got my break as an assistant manager.
So this morning I picked up my car to take her to a transmission specialist. I took it to one guy, and he said he wasn;t going to be able to get it in today. So mike and I went to a second shop. I explained the problem to the mechanic, and he pretty much said exactly what I didn''t want to here. He said it sounded to him the tranmission was slipping. ( So rewind, on my way to the transmission guy I called my dad, who because of his wonderful luck with vehicles was standing next to nancy's dad and family auto repair guy dennis.. Dennis told me to get the trans flushed and filter changed) Ok so they guy at the second shop wouldn't even do the filter change. He just told meHe just told me I needed a new transmission.
So Mike and I got into our cars and started to leave. I called my dad to tell him the news but he failed to believe the guy. He told me that I needed to get what dennis told me done. Great. Except no one in MD would even look at my car. So after struggling to get my car home from the shop, a vet appointment, and about 50 million calls between my mom and I the decision was to get my car towed up to philly and let Dennis look at her himself.
So thats pretty much it. My car went on a flat bed and was towed to Philly courtesy of AAA.
The worst part id there are only two things to come of this.
1.) My car does only need a filter change, and so I have to figure out how to get my car back from philly.
2.) My car actually does need a new tranmission and I have no car.
ughhh..
will the rit survive.

Remember, our grocery bill was below a hundred dollars which means you won the bet...the bet that if our bill was below a hundred, the Rit would live.
Looks like we have to figure a way to get a car from Philly!
Call AAA!
