Now that summer is pretty much coming to a close I decided it would be a good time to start working out again. I feel like I have let myself go. Up until the time i rotated over to the airport I had been getting up early to run and weight train. Working at the airport though killed my energy level at first. Once I broke the running habit I just couldn't go back. Now that my four months is drawing to a close (i know.. right!) I decided that now is as good a time as ever to start my routine again.
My eating has for the most part stayed on track, but its had its slip ups, like over vacation. I felt like I ate way more then anyone ever should. Which pretty much inspired my new gym habit. The other thing that inspired it is Mike starting his grad classes soon. He is going to be spending a lot of time on school, school, and football so I need something that can preoccupy my time. Something that is more active then staring at a TV or computer for hours but cheaper then shopping. And since i feel like i am getting a little doughy around the center these days... I've returned yet again to...to... hmm whats the male equivalent of a mistress?
Anyway,
I guess this is about the point in the blog where I set some goals for myself. First of all I am going to aim for 4 days a week. After 6 weeks I want to be able to run 4 miles and do 25 push-ups. (pretty lofty since in January i could do 0 push-ups). I want to trade 5lbs of fat for the equivalent in muscle.
I think that is pretty good to start. I will try and use this as a journal to keep me honest, so Andrea and Mike (my only readers) can yell at me when I slack off.
my relationship with running starts tomorrow..
getting back on the horse...
