to do list for 2009

1. Cut up my Credit Cards.

Ok, so maybe I will just hand them over to Michael for safe keeping, but its virtually the same. I've already proven that I can't be trusted with them, and since Mike is now paying for my past (literally) I feel like I owe it to him. The only way to prevent a relapse is to eliminate the temptation.

2. Save $1200 this year.

Michael and I have an ING account that I must say has been padded much more by Mike then myself. This year my goal is to scrap up $100/month to put into our savings, without skimping on my debt payments or everyday contributions.

3. Cook one meal per week (or maybe month)

I know Michael is laughing at this right now, but i'm serious. Michael is the resident cook, and while I don't mind it one bit I have felt a need lately to prove my abilities. In addition it would give me a chance to (attempt to) make the healthy recipies I want, but Michael doesn't want to cook.

4. Figure out what I really want to do with my life.

I've been thinking a lot lately about what kind of career would really make me happy. I already know i'm not an Enterprise lifer but I'm not sure how to take the next step. Whenever I begin looking at other options I start to feel overwhelmed. I begin wandering down too broad of paths and lose my direction.

5. Make plans with my friends.

It seems like the only surefire way for me to make and keep plans is to put it on the calendar. Once its there it becomes and obligation, one I can't back out on.

6. Go Green

Not just for Michigan State though. I know it sounds a little cliche at this point, but its something small that makes me feel a little bit better about myself. Now don't expect me to start skipping out on (more) showers or making clothes from hemp, but I would like to eat fresher less processed foods and recycle and conserve as much as I can.

7. Keep my gym routine through the year

Last year I started and ended strong but missed more then a few months in the middle. I'm feeling more confident this year mostly because now I have a partner to who is better then me and sticking to a plan, Michael. Just like Lauren used to motivate me to get to the IM in the mornings I now have Mike to wake me up when I try to sleep an extra half hour.

I'm sure there is plenty more I could add to this list, but the rest will have to come in time because I can't think of them now.
