This morning, after waking at the ludacris hour of 7.30, i was complaining to mike about have nothing to do while he worked on stuff for school, played video games, and blogged. He told me to just write about something. At the time though i had nothing to comment on.
Fast forward to this afternoon.
I was enjoying probably the most glorious issue of elle, and any other magazine, the september fall preview issue. I was flipping through all 590+ pages of dolce and gabbana, proenza schouler, prada, L.A.M.B., juicy, and gucci when i came across an article titled "breast buy". Barely phased i read on "on a website that allows men to foot the bill for a women's implants" STOP, pardon?
Myfreeimplants.com
Its not a joke. Its an actual online "social" community that allows men, complete strangers, from all corners of the globe to pay for a woman's breast implants.
My first reaction to the article was naturally "whores". However, i'm trying to turn over this new leaf where i'm not so quick to judge. So i went to the website to do a little investigating. Do you know what i found? Yeah, whores. Every last one of them. These women were basically selling their bodies, souls, and last few ounces of respect just to make their breasts a d-cup. Now, i know i could never fully understand the plight of the a-cup woman since i was (unfortunately)blessed with a well endowed chest, but i could never understand going this far for a set of boobs. Especially when you have to pay more money for a bra!
In the arena of this twisted social community women call themselves models, despite their actual physical appearance, and men glorify themself with the title of benefactor. The founders even disillusionly refer to the business as a charity. When really all it is is a way for strippers to get boobs without it coming out of their lapdance earnings, cause obviously that is going to all the coke they snort in order to live out their lives outside of the dimly lit sex cavern they spend their days in. (ok harsh i know)
Reading some testimonies women believe this site is empowering, they believe they hold the cards and use men as their pawns to get what they want. But who is really playing who here? There bizarro assertion of girl power resembles a well thought out marketing ploy. Women are willingly posting near naked pictures of themselves on a site, for men to ogle all they want. Women offer private chats, and pictures even more revealing for larger donations. This "charity" is more like just a cheaper version of any actual porn site, and less costly then ordering porn from a cable company. (Which i'm sure is an activity men frequenting this site partake in anyway).
Some women justify their membership to this site by claiming they have never sent full naked pictures to their benefactors. Even if this is true, i can't even imagine what the content of their messages invovle inorder to raise 6,000 dollars for implants. I'm going to guess its not just about their day-to-day goings on.
Is this what women's rights was all about? Did we struggle through the entire 20th century just to resubjugate ourselves to a man's sexual desires. Women have misconstrued the definition of girl power into "its ok to take my clothes off, as long as its on my terms" "I can sell my body for sex, on my terms." Exposing your body for art and fashion is one thing. But exposing yourself for a free set of tits is reprehensible. I for one believe that a woman's sex appeal lies in her mystique. It is an art of strategy, and understanding the body. Its also an art of intelligence. Chances are good a woman more then willing to put all her cards on the table, isn't smart enough to be hiding an ace up her sleeve. Its also likely hers isn't the heavy end of the power balance.
sidenote: porn bazaar was a brilliant description thought by megan deem, the writer of the original acrticle in ELLE.

Well put miss. I actually (and this may come as a shock) agree with what you wrote and will not argue with you.
Do you think they'll ever come up with a site where men pay for breast reductions? I'd nominate you for that one. And I'd donate some money (very little of course, I have a repuation to keep), and then let dirty boys donate the rest. Let's take a few dirty pictures and make this happen! Well, on your terms of course =).
1. you are a good writer!
2. where do i sign up?? haha no really i want to sign up for this reduction business...and make other people pay for it! Sounds excellent!
What?! Has this world gone mad! Reductions! No way! :-D
